Which Chinese Drama City Are You?

Most “which Chinese drama city are you” quizzes sort you by vibe. This one sorts you by place — and every answer is a destination we have already researched, with a dated guide behind it. Seven questions, twelve possible cities, and a route planner waiting at the end.

How it works: each answer nudges you towards one city and, more lightly, towards a second. Nothing is stored, nothing is emailed, and the whole thing runs in your browser. If you disagree with the result, that is useful information too — start over and answer honestly.

Take the quiz

Answer all seven. At the end you get one city, why it fits you, the guide to go with it, and a one-tap way to turn it into an itinerary.

Answer the questions above, then press See my city.

How the quiz decides

There is no randomness and no black box. Every answer carries a small score for one city and a smaller score for a second, and the city with the highest total wins. The scores are balanced so that each of the twelve cities is equally reachable — the quiz cannot funnel everyone into the same two places.

  • Twelve real destinations. Each result is a city or region we have already published a dated guide for, not a mood board.
  • One question, two pulls. Your choice pushes you mainly towards one city and lightly towards another, so a close second is always possible.
  • Nothing is stored. The quiz runs entirely in your browser. We do not log your answers, and there is no email gate on the result.

What it deliberately does not do: invent cities we have not researched, rank them by anything commercial, or ask for your email before showing the answer.

What to do with the result

The result is a starting point, not a verdict. From there you can open the full guide for your city — with tickets, transport and passport friction — or hand it straight to the route planner, which will build a day-by-day itinerary around it and let you print it.

Which Chinese drama city — common questions

Do I need to answer honestly?

It works better if you do. The quiz is designed to give you a place you would actually enjoy, not the place with the best photo.

Can I get more than one city?

You get one main result and a close runner-up. If you want a trip that combines several — a city plus a mountain, or two studios — the route planner is built exactly for that.

Is this based on the dramas, or the places?

Both. Each city is anchored to the dramas actually filmed there — Hengdian to the costume epics, Duyun to The Untamed, Xiamen to Hidden Love — but the questions are about how you like to travel, so the result is a place you will enjoy even if you have not seen the show.

Why is there no email form?

Because the result is not the point — the trip is. If you want to hear about new routes and fact-check updates, you can join the list separately. It is never required to use anything on this site.
